Healing in Community

The Beginning

Wellspring began as My Yoga Bud, a grassroots, donation‑based project created for people who were struggling to find a yoga class that truly fit them in their own community. From the beginning, the intention was simple: make yoga accessible, welcoming, and responsive to real human needs—without financial or cultural barriers.

The Present

As our work deepened through social work study and training in trauma‑informed yoga, My Yoga Bud naturally evolved into Wellspring. Today, Wellspring offers both in‑person and online classes that support healing, connection, and whole‑person wellness.

We remain rooted in our original mission by continuing to provide free and donation‑based community classes, along with a free online yoga library—because access to healing practices should never be out of reach.

We partner with local clinics, rec centers and non-profit organizations to expand the impact of healing through yoga to our community.

Teachers

Caitlin Sturgis

As a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT‑200), Caitlin specializes in trauma‑sensitive movement, mindfulness, and somatic practices that honor autonomy and lived experience. Her teaching emphasizes invitational language, grounding, and interoceptive awareness, with particular care for individuals who may not feel represented or fully welcomed in mainstream wellness spaces.

Caitlin completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2025 at the University of Denver, where she concentrated in Mental Health and Trauma. She brings a culturally responsive, research‑informed lens to her work, shaped in part by her graduate work with Comeback Yoga, where she facilitated trauma‑informed yoga for veterans in clinical, virtual, and community settings. Her work included developing choice‑based and nervous‑system–sensitive classes; contributing to program research for Military Sexual Trauma (MST) survivors and incarcerated veterans; and integrating somatic interventions alongside traditional mental health treatment models. These experiences strengthened her belief in accessible, holistic pathways to trauma recovery.

In addition to her clinical and somatic training, Caitlin brings more than a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership, program development, and community engagement. Her work has supported survivors of trauma, expanded access to healing resources, and championed social and racial justice within community‑based organizations. She is known for her relational approach, cultural humility, and commitment to creating inclusive, empowering spaces.

At Wellspring Mind Body, Caitlin weaves together her social work background, somatic training, and deep respect for embodied healing. She is honored to support individuals seeking gentle, compassionate, and empowering pathways toward transformation and trusts that, with the right environment and community, the body knows how to heal.
